Saturday

Today at 12:40 our group met up at gelare around siglap area to complete our objectives, which ultimate purpose was to complete the assignment given to us, we wanted to do our best to impress the boss. We sat down and realised we have not enough ammunition ( Storyboard paper) and the leader known as K.L. assignment me to go hunt for ammunition
10:50when i came back to gelare we realised we have encountered a problem that we did have a power plug nearby for our lappys, we went then to starbucks to continue our assignments
we gave good inputs to each other and by 15:00 our storyboard was more or less done and so were the proposal and moodboard, we then agreed to meet at my house for another secret gathering. at 19:30 kin leong reach first and me n him started on abit work before realising then our comrade had just finished her dinner and is about to reach with no clear directions
we then gathered and finalised what had to be done the next day. we were pleased with our work and progress. We Group Steer then dispersed and recharge ourselves to prepare for the next meeting which was tampines library 14:00, late comers had to face severe consequences

Friday

i brought the rest of them to see the spot where i thought we could use for some of our shoots. we took photos for our mood board there too.
8:57 i told cy and james that we would have to walk some distance to get there.. but i didnt knew it was so darn far dude. i was on a bicycle when i past by that grass patch with a cool-looking tree. And it made a hell lota difference. i could easily zoom to pasir ris park and sunplaza in 10 to 15min. we spent around an hour or 2? walking. we were damn shag when we reached pasir ris. cy was exclaiming she had walked all the way to her cousin's house (her cousin lives pasir ris), james was still very energetic. i was so hungry i was dragging on the floor.
we can see white sands on our right and downtown east on our left, but it was partly covered by trees and white sands felt much closer... but james wanted downtown and i had to drag all the way there to get my fooooodd
at least we got our mood board pictures. alot more details went in to the storyboard and the script had to change abit. everything is getting better and improved. with so many storyboard drafts, we are ready to do the real thing. james will be doing it tonight and maybe tomorrow too. i'll do the proposal. cy will do the ppt and compile mood board.

Day 17

Our group didn't really have time to discuss about our work today due to H&C. However, i met up with Kin after 6pm today to discuss somemore. James had training today hence he couldn't make it.

We discussed about our opening of the video. We tried to think of ways to let the opening link with the rest of the video. Suddenly, we came up with a lot of new ideas and merged James's idea with ours and i think it worked out really well!!

We're going to do our mood board tomorrow!! Hopefully it doesn't rain and everything goes well!!

Day 16

Our group met up in school as usual today. James came up with a new idea for our opening and we have some problems deciding what to do next. Luckily we're going to solve everything by friday. We're going to test our ideas out on that day. Kin and James are going to concentrate on H&C for today and tomorrow, so we have to finish everything over friday, saturday and sunday. Work all the way!!

Day 15

the original plan was to have the storyboard further improved today with input from james and cy. but james was down with stomach pain and couldnt come. we gt our most important 1 man down. he had previous experiences with video and we could use his help in improving the storyboard and stuff.
there was still 2/3 of the team left and we thought we could make full use of our time, so we brushed through a proposal to save time in the future. we took all the titles from the brief Amanda gave us and tried to add stuff under them. for some parts we had no choice but to leave them out because the script, storyboard, and mood board was not there yet.
i hope we can get more of the storyboard done by tml.. but tml have HnC.. ah sian. i dun wanna keep rushing through everything, it losses zz fun and zz meaning

Day 14

Today our group met up in mac lab , when we reached we were more or less quite objective and start to churn ideas to merge both the ideas we previously talked about ( Stick man, and MTV styled video)
10:53 We layed out what we were going to do and what we had to do, like finding the audio , storyboard and MOI letterings for that matter
We didnt had a storyboard template yet so we just drafted stuffs out on a piece of paper so that we could eventually transfer it over to the actual one we were going to submit , we then were stuck on the topic of wat material or medium we wanted our MOI lettering to be to achieve the effects we wanted , unfortunately me n kin had to go down for our H&C consultation for awhile
when we came back we just planned what we had to do 2mrw, this is therefore Feb 23 of group STEERS project 1.

Sunday

We met up today at Macdonalds!!

We discussed more about our story line, how our story would turn out. We made some changes here and there and confirm some other parts too. I can almost visualize our video. I think it'll turn out great!!

Finally our story line is confirmed!! We'll be working on our storyboard and other stuff tomorrow in school!!

Day 13

after the consultation the day before, we felt that it is too hard for us to do a whole 9min animation. so we decided to have a pure video instead. but the ideas for the previous animation was good and we wanted to put it into the video too.

we proposed 2 ideas today. one was to follow the same concept as yesterday, but to replace the characters with real people (us) to make our lifes easier. another was to do a pure video.

after consulting again with amanda this morning we decided to go forth with the pure video. We can then add in flash animations when words flashed on the screen or as transitions. this way we can use the good points of both ideas. but of course we would need to find a good way to fuse them nicely.

we shall use the opening i had when we did our individual presentations. the words against a black screen shall be replaced with flash animations.

Day 12

Having our ideas pieced together we decided to consult Amanda at 2 45pm. Amanda then brought us to the nearby room so thence we presented our group idea, we described to her what our work would look like with sketches. She give a awkward look and ask “ Why do you guys go for animation look” , “ don’t you guys wanna go for video?” That triggered our thoughts a little, she then suggested that due to time constraints that we can use video instead for some parts as in time to come this will be one of our pride, showcasing our interests and direction which we want to take which is Video. Straight after the meeting with Amanda ,ideas came to my head to put amanda’s suggestions into action. Unfortunately at that moment we were able to discuss more as Kin Leong and I had our H&C classed to attend. But overall our group was enthusiastic and “on” for this project I see great teamwork and good team dynamics, All the Best Guys!

Day 11

There was no lesson today so our group decided to meet up outside of school to discuss about our project. We headed off to coffee bean around 2pm to discuss there.

James told us his two design ideas which kin and i thought was good. We decided to do animation since James knows how to do it. We sat down for quite a long time to get our ideas down and at least decide on the story line for our visual portfolio. There was a bit of miscommunication but luckily we managed to solve it. I think that our idea is very interesting!! Can't wait to do the animation and see how everything turns out.

We're having consultation tomorrow!! Hopefully we have a time slot before 3.

Day 10

today was my turn to present. after seeing what the rest have did the day before, i took in their good points and try to avoid repeating their mistakes.

amanda wants to see more of our ideas than our research. she hopes to see the story-lines of our ideas, which many of us fail to provide, including me on my first idea. many people presented lots of details on the styles of their ideas though. i agree that these stylising can come after having a clear and complete story-line.

i personally feel that my flash animation idea is interesting, but after amanda pointed out that my Flash animation idea had no complete story-line but just the style did i come to notice it too. so i'm a bit worried about that idea now, and the MV idea seems a safer idea for now.

our group seems to have a few flash animation ideas. so flash maybe the way to go for our group? we'll discuss about it tomorrow. James is sick though, hope he gets well soon so we can have a great time!

Day 9

Today we had a great time in class, half of the class presented on their 2 ideas for the Final project in which in time to come we will combine with our other 2 group mates. Each had approximately 10 minutes to share about their ideas, some managed to meet amanda’s expectation while a handful didn’t as they had not have a clear projection of what their ideas could promise.

Well, Cai Yun was one of the people who presented today and I think she did fairly well, as she was up there presenting I was thinking about how our ideas could merge as a group to better or beat the other groups. Nevertheless, today’s presentations gave me n kin leong a taste of what was to be expect the following.

Day 8

Today we had a mass lecture in LT 24!! Wahidah started talking about our new brief. Here's the news:

WE HAVE TO PRODUCE A VIDEO FOR FINAL ASSIGNMENT!!!!!

Then, Wahidah showed us some of the works that the past year 1 students did last year. Some of it was REAL GOOD while some was well, okay.

I thought all we had to do was animatics, but in the end, they decided to change the brief!! OMG!!! It'll be quite a hectic block for me during the next block. With design H&C and filming for Project 1. I'm starting to get worried/stress/nervous/excited. I think for now, i'll have to concentrate on my two design ideas, make sure that they are good. Haha. I have confidence in my group! I think we can do it!!

Anyway, I've came up with two ideas already. However, they are not very solid YET. I think i'll need to consult amanda tomorrow, having problems doing research. Not too sure about what to do. Can anyone help me??!?!?!

Day 7

It was a great presentation. it is rare that everyone in the group can go up without a piece of paper in their hands :applause: :applause:
wowo there was epic world war III

everyone wanna kill each other. every group's Q&A session was bombarded with nuclear bombs of enormous confusion and panic. Brian's nation sparked off the war. they were the first who started firing missiles crazily. this angered other great nations. they waited for their chance patiently, and when the q&a sessions arrive they massacred all human race mercilessly.

luckily there was the UN, which consist of Amanda and other members whose name they requested kept confidential. they secured the situation and calmed down all nations. in the process they were too shot at mercilessly by the great nations who have by now lost all sanity. we shall always remember those who have fallen and sacrificed themselves for the greater good

Day 6

We met up early in the morning and CY is late. We complied our ideas into a powerpoint. We did the skeleton of the slides before adding the meat and KL got hungry so we went to eat! After we got our much needed energy boost, we carried on with our powerpoint slides. KL got sleepy but we woke him up. Our powerpoint is more than half done but we NEED A BACKGROUND AND PICTURES!! We carried on fine tuning our powerpoint slides and rehearsing our sides so that we would not miss anything out. It was a fruitful morning. We distributed what we had to do. We are quite ready for the presentation! And so, we dispersed as KL and J had to do their H&C project and CY stayed back to finish up. And this concludes day number 6!

Day 5

Hi there!

There were no lessons today, however, we had consultation for individual ideas for the final assignment. I don't know about my team members but I think mine went quite well. At least Amanda didn't say my ideas were like Shit. I will have to do more research to solidify my ideas. I wonder what James and Kin has come up with. I am excited to see how everything turns out.

Anyway, met up with kin online today, James had training today so he can't meet up. But we're decided to meet up as a group tomorrow, cause there are no lesson, to do our powerpoint slides and rehearse. We collated all of our researches and the surveys together today. We challenged our own ideas to improve on certain points and also to make our ideas more solid. It is also to prepare us IF Amanda challenges our ideas. Everything is falling into place i guess.

Our ideas are finally finalized! It sounds interesting to me. Speaking of that, as i was going through the survey results, i was surprised to see that a lot of youngsters do not care about interacting with their grandparents, some even said that they do not care! I now see the importance of this exercise and also the 60> design centre! I hope that something can be done to change this 'I-don't-care-attitude' of some youngsters. There will be a day that we will turn as old as our grandparents. I certainly do not want to be neglected by my grandchildren. HAHA! That's too early for me to think about that now huh.

I was surprised that many of our friends chose game show as an event that they'll most likely to join! I thought most of them will be too shy to join game show. But it also good that they chose game show, it means that our idea will most probably work!!

And so we had a conversation online , tho i came in late and with little idea what had alrdy been discussed i caught up and realised that CY and KL were evaluating about the 2 main ideas( miniconcert cum carnival) and ( gameshow) , nearly an hour was spend in counter suggestions, as our group nears the presentation dates i can see our plans being work to more detail.

I hope the best for the groups 2 ideas as they sound very promising and unique , i look forward to compiling the ideas for presentation, thx guys..

Day 4

each person was to produce at least 2 ideas from the day before, today we put our ideas together and discussed on those that stood out from the rest.

there was an interesting suggestion that we could hold a cooking competition where the young and old team up. It is a good concept as it encourages communication between them.

this sparked off another idea,we can have a gameshow. the rough idea is that the elderly will ask the young questions in dialect, and asks the young to translate or guess wad the question is. Taking note of Amanda's suggestion during consultation, we will involve all races in the gameshow

we have 2 confrimed ideas now: Gameshow, and Campaign

Day 3

As the Third Day for Moi P1 begins, We were all invited to attend a talk by former TP Design Student Victric Thng who is current a recognized filmmaker in Singapore. We were shown around 50mins worth of Short films which he did, it was inspiring for people who wanted to pursue the video specialty. As class followed shortly after talk after lunch break Amanda took the initiative to to brief the class about our assignments and answer any of our queries, I think so far our group worked and distributed researches quite well compared with some other groups. I hope that we can create some impact when we combine our ideas.

Day 2

Today is the second day of our MOI project one module. Amanda went through a lot of things during the first hour of the class which helped us understand a lot about our final project. We're all feeling stress already. There will be an individual presentation next wednesday!

After the short tutorial, we discussed about out Council for Third Age exercise. I think our group is doing well so far. Splitting up the workload and researching for information. Everyone is working hard. I hope the following days will be as smooth sailing as it was today. Kin Leung is going to be compiling all the research tonight, hopefully we can start brainstorming for ideas tomorrow.

Day 1

The first day, the first entry of MOI project 1. Nice day, got a briefing from Wahiah, then another briefing from Amanda. Wahidah looks like a other when she puts her hand on her hips and starts pointing around at the latecomers.
Weird to have our class in the animation lab. Are we going to animate something? Cause Amanda mentioned earlier about animatic or something.
I'm exhausted from the previous block, But i guess the rest are worst off then me. They are still working on their 1m by 1m paintings, so I volunteered to help with today's entry.
